Certified Level 2 Eventing Coach Tracey Stapley- Edwards

Traceys competitive career started in the Hunter ring where she competed up to the A level shows such as the Royal Winter Fair.

In the area of Show Jumping Tracey has ridden with both Michel Valliancourt and Jay Hayes.

Under the instruction of Ian Roberts Tracey was introducted to the world of Eventing. Ian and his wife Kelly Plitz encouraged Tracey to pursue her Level 2 certification.

For the passed 4 years Tracey has been involved in the learn to ride program with the OEF and is a certified mentor. This enables Tracey to do rider level testing and Mentor level 1 coach candidates.

Tracey also has extensive background in the Hunter/Jumper field

SHEILA JOPLING

Sheila Jopling is the newest member of our team. She is currently in the process of obtaining her OEF instructors certification in English Equitation.  Her lifelong passion for horses and riding brought her to Buckhorn Farm in November, 2007, where she began taking English equitation lessons.  Her enthusiasm and commitment to excelling in the sport has led Sheila to successfully obtaining her Rider Level 6 English Equitation (flat). With regular weekly mentoring sessions with our Level 2 coach, Tracey Stapley-Edwards,  Sheila plans to obtain her instructors certification this year.

"My belief when teaching beginner riders is simple:  There is no end to learning when it comes to horses.  I want each student to enjoy learning about 'horsemanship', in a safe, fun and relaxed atmosphere, starting from the basics of proper horse care (grooming, leading, taking care of their tack) to establishing confidence, comfort and control on horseback.  It is my biggest hope that every experience be positive and fun!"

 Anita Coppaway, Certified Western Instructor

Anita Coppaway has over 20 years experience in riding, training and horse management.  Living in British Columbia for the major part of her life, Anita rode endlessly throughout her youth in the mountains, giving her a true appreciation of the bond between Horse and Rider.  Anita is competent in both English and Western disciplines and has shown locally in both areas.  She also has a strong interest and has competed successfully in Competitive Trail/Endurance Riding.

Anita loves to teach!!!  What is better than sharing the things you love with others?  Anita’s main focus is to introduce riders to a safe and fun way to ride and handle horses.  All the elementary skills of trail riding, showing, and western gaming are taught in a natural and safe approach.  Instruction is given according to each student’s goals, whether it is pleasure riding on the trails, or striving to reach a competitive career in the show ring.

In teaching, Anita likes to integrate several natural horsemanship ideas.  Anita feels that a student and horse can have a stronger appreciation of their accomplishments together as a team by learning to communicate with each other in a natural and effective way.
